Why shopping online can be good for your pocket and your health

 

How do you buy your food? Perhaps you do your shopping in brick-and-mortar stores, preferring to be able to see and touch the things you buy.  If so, consider this: switching to an online shop could save your time, money and calories.

 

As a student, Sara Mills switched to online shopping three months ago and she feels sure that she made the right choice. Sara says, “Since I started shopping online, I’ve saved so much money! I’ve also saved a lot of time. I don’t need to stand in long queues at the till anymore. I just open up laptop, reorder from my online shopping cart and click ‘buy’”.

Health challenge

 

Have you been putting on weight over winter? Do you feel lethargic and generally run-down? Why not consider joining this year’s health challenge?

 

Our health challenge is open to all students. It starts on December 1st and will continue until March 1st.

 

How it works:

 

Participating students will meet with one of our fitness advisors. Together, you’ll discuss any lifestyle changes needing made. You will agree to a series of goals related to physical fitness and healthy eating. You’ll be assigned a “fitness buddy” (another student who is taking part in the challenge) who you’ll meet on a weekly basis to discuss progress.

 

What you’ll get out of it:

 

> membership of the student gym and a free pass to the swimming pool for the duration of the challenge;

The importance of a child’s early years

 

The importance of careful nurture during a child’s early years has long been believed by health professionals. However, recent research has found even more proof to back this belief.

 

Science writer Emil Barker has interviewed some expert science writers and researchers in a bid to find out more about how a baby’s neurons (神经细胞) get wired to other neurons and how these connections grow at an incredible pace during the first few years of a child’s life.
